Parish Ministries

St. Paul's sees stewardship as contributing to the work of the Kingdom out of a sense of thanksgiving and caring for the resources with which we have been entrusted. Stewardship ministries offer parishioners a variety of opportunities to offer their time, talent and money. We try always to recognize that All things come of thee O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee. Volunteer for any of these ministries.

20's/30's Group
This ministry welcomes and connects adults in their 20's and 30's through fellowship opportunities, spiritual discernment, and community service.

Art Show
On a weekend in November, St. Paul's hosts an Old Town Churches Art Show. On a weekend in May, parishioners show and sell their works in Norton Hall. A portion of the proceeds are donated to support service ministries.

Coffee Hour
An Episcopal tradition, coffee and hospitality are served following the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on Sunday mornings.

Commitment Sunday
Annually in the fall, each member of the parish is contacted by mail and is asked to make a financial pledge to St. Paul's for the upcoming budget year. Your pledge funds the parish operating budget (ministry areas, facility maintenance/repair, clergy, and staff, etc.).

Dinner Groups
These small groups offer the opportunity to get to know other parishioners in a relaxed dinner context. Sign ups for the groups are held in the early fall.

E-list
Our parish e-list offers a way to get the news online. If you join, you can share announcements and news and get our weekly e-Pistle. The weekly e-Pistle gives you a heads up on what's happening at St. Paul's and what is new on our Web site. Join.

Easter Revels
We celebrate the Easter season with a party, complete with champagne, following the Easter Vigil.

First Friday
First Friday offers families the opportunity for casual dining and fellowship on the first Friday of each month in Norton Hall at 6 p.m. We order pizza and each family brings drinks and a few dollars for the pizza kitty. Babysitting is provided. There is no formal program, it's just a wonderful way to wind down after a long week, meet new friends, and reconnect with others. You may contact the First Friday group via e-mail at tgifirstfriday@hotmail.com.

Goodwin House Dinner
Usually held in May, this dinner is prepared and served to honor our senior citizens who live at Goodwin House. Everyone is invited to attend.

Historical Commission
This group helps preserve our rich and varied history as a parish.

Memorial Flowers
Memorial flowers are a way to remember family and friends and to give thanks for various blessings in life by decorating the nave on Sundays.

OWLS
The OWLS (Older Wiser Laity) meet about every other month for lunch in Norton Hall from September through May and organize trips periodically during the year.

Parish picnic
Held on the last Sunday in June, the parish picnic follows the 10 a.m. casual Sunday service. This potluck meal event takes place in a local park or a parishioner's home.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is reaching out to parishioners and friends with needs to ease their concerns with our support and caring. The time commitment for each activity varies. Examples include: delivering flowers after Christmas or Easter; visiting people in the hospital; and/or being on a team that supports a family in the parish when a time of dying draws near.

Shrine Mont Weekend
Once each autumn we head to the mountains to the Cathedral Shrine of the Diocese for a weekend among some of the finest scenery in God's creation. There are programs for adults, youth, and children and we are free to participate in all or none. The program varies, but the opportunity to get away, to make new friends, to enjoy the mountains, and renew the spirit do not change from year to year.

Shrove Tuesday
Hosted by the St. Paul's Vestry and staff, this traditional pre-Lent pancake supper offers dining, an arts and crafts program for children, nursery care for infants, and jazz for adults.

Tellers
Each Monday morning a group of parishioners gather to count and deposit the Sunday collection.

Welcome Committee
The welcome committee makes sure all newcomers are contacted and made to feel part of St. Paul's. They organize our periodic newcomer receptions held at the rectory.
