Clergy

St. Paul's is blessed with a dedicated and faithful staff of lay and ordained professionals. Some of the clergy you see on Sunday mornings. Some you speak to on the phone. All of them see their work as a ministry of service to the parish and to the larger community.

The Rev. Oran E. Warder is celebrating his 10 year anniversary as rector at St. Paul's. Oran started at St. Paul's on Dec. 1, 1999 after serving in the Diocese of Delaware. In addition to managing parish affairs and the office staff at St. Paul's, Oran also serves as an adjunct professor of liturgies at Virginia Theological Seminary. In 2006, he was named an honorary Canon of the Cathedral of St. Matthew in the Diocese of Renk in Southern Sudan. The Rev. Judith Harris Proctor is vicar at St. Paul's. Judith serves in the stead of the rector when he can't be in two places at the same time. The word "vicar" comes from the Latin, vicarius, which means "substitute" and is of the same origin as the word "vicarious." Judith oversees the acolytes, helps in liturgy planning and the organization of parish events, and handles administrative details as they relate to worship services at St. Paul's. Judith is an LCSW-C and offers counseling within the parish. Judith can be reached at 703-549-3312 x24 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
