Fellowship Ministries

Fellowship Ministries
St. Paul's regards stewardship as contributing to the work of the Kingdom out of a sense of thanksgiving and caring for the resources with which we have been entrusted. Fellowship ministries offer parishioners a variety of opportunities to offer their time, talent, and money. We try always to recognize that: "All things come of thee O Lord, and of thine own have we given thee." To volunteer for one of these fellowship ministries, please contact the leader listed in the information below.

Beefeaters
St. Paul's Beefeaters is a group of diverse, convivial, and occasionally thoughtful individuals who share (among other things) membership in St. Paul's and the need to occasionally lift, haul, demolish, build, or repair large objects with the express purpose of improving the surroundings of their beloved church. The group also enjoys roasting meat on a stick, playing cricket and soccer, and listening to beat and rock & roll music while doing so. Dinner Groups

Dinner groups are small groups of adults who sign up to meet with fellow parishioners for a social evening and dinner on a monthly basis from September to June. The groups are a fun and relaxed way to get to know other members of St. Paul's. We encourage new members to join as a way of becoming involved in the life of the parish. If you are interested in joining a group, please contact Francine Gemmill at 703-548-3584 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

First Friday
First Friday offers families a way to gather for a casual supper and fellowship on the first Friday of each month. All meet in Norton Hall at 6:00 p.m. The group orders pizza, and each family brings drinks and a few dollars for the pizza kitty. First Friday has no formal program and is a great way to wind down after a long week, meet new friends, and reconnect with others. Babysitting is provided by weeSIT, a professional nursery and childcare service. If you do require babysitting services, please email Ross Kane the names and ages of your children so the weeSIT folks are prepared. For more information, please contact the Rev. Ross Kane at 703-549-3312 x19 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Historical Commission
St. Paul's historical commission works to preserve the rich history of St. Paul's parish. For more information, please call Ruth Lincoln Kaye at 703-836-3286.

Lay Eucharistic Ministry
Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEM) assist the clergy by taking Holy Communion to those in our parish who are homebound, hospitalized, or otherwise unable to attend Sunday services. LEMs help maintain the connection between the congregation and the person being visited. Time commitments vary, but usually LEMs will make one visit a month. Special training and licensing by the Diocese of Virginia are provided for those who are part of this ministry team. For more information or to join this ministry, please contact Sam Mason at 571-312-3213 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Meals Ministry
St. Paul's meals ministry provides meals to St. Paul's parishioners who are experiencing a time of illness, bereavement, or other emergency. By providing meals to parishioners at home, we hope to ease one of life's daily burdens and provide a chance for individuals and families to focus on healing, both physically and spiritually. The time commitment for the meals ministry involves making or purchasing a meal or light fare and delivering the meal at a mutually agreeable time. For more information or to join this ministry, please contact Talley Fulghum at 703-768-8232 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Memorial Flowers
Memorial flowers are a nice way to remember family and friends and to give thanks for various blessings in life. The flowers decorate the nave and chapel on Sundays. If you would like to give memorial flowers, please contact Jane Cole at 703-780-0204 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Men's Group
The Men's Group resumed gathering after a year hiatus in Winter 2012, meeting one Thursday a month at 7:30 a.m. at the church.  In the past, this group has been part bible study, part state-of -the-church discussion, and part life discussion.  The group currently is studying former NFL coach Tony Dungy's book Dare To Be Uncommon.  Coach Dungy has written several books on how men can be strong leaders, husbands, and fathers in these turbulent times. While many members of the group tend to be in their 30s or 40s with busy work lives and young families, the group is open to all men at St. Paul's. If you would like to join the group or have any questions, please contact Camp Kaufman at (202) 669-0575 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. New Baby Ministry
St. Paul's new baby ministry assists St. Paul's families who have a new baby in their lives by providing respite care and meals and offering other assistance as needed. Ministry volunteers also welcome each new child and give a gift of a hand-crafted "cradle-cross" in the name of the congregation. For more information or to join this ministry, please contact Jeannie Baldwin at 703-350-8557 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Office Volunteers
Volunteers are needed in the parish office Monday through Friday (especially from 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m.) Volunteer duties include answering the phone and helping with various mailings and special projects as needed. If you have time one or more days a week or would like to be on the list of parishioners able to help out when needed, please contact Donna Lefeve at 703-549-3312 x14 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Welcome Committee
The Welcome Committee focuses on visitors and new members.  We enjoy hosting a coffee for parishioners and newcomers each Sunday.  All are welcome to join us for this informal coffee between the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services in the Johnston Room.  It is a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get questions answered, meet people, and pick up a welcome packet.  The committee also works with the clergy and staff to contact those who have visisted St. Paul's and welcome them to our community.  We strive to help these visitors become parishioners.
