Worship Ministries

Serving God in His Church

Since becoming an acolyte, and especially an acolyte mentor, I have a much greater respect for and understanding of St. Paul's and the service. It truly feels like I am a part of something very special and powerful.

St. Paul's seeks worship that touches the heart and mind through Word and sacrament for the sake of the Kingdom. Parishioners are invited to join us in our worship services by participating in any of our worship ministries. For more information about individual ministries, please feel free to contact the person indicated below.

Acolytes

During the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. services, acolytes (5th through 12th-graders) carry the candles (torchbearer) or the cross (crucifer) in the procession while older youth assist the clergy in setting the Eucharistic table. Adult acolytes serve as crucifer and server at the 7:45 a.m. service. The staff contact is the Rev. Judith Harris Proctor who can be reached at (703) 549-3312 x24.

Become an Acolyte!
Calling all youth ages 10-17! St. Paul’s has an amazing crew of dedicated acolytes and we are seeking more to join starting in September 2016. If you have a child between 10 (or turning 10 before the end of 2016) and 17 (or a senior in high school), we’d love to get them into our fun program! We will have plenty of time for everyone to get trained before serving for the first time. Questions? Contact Rebecca Wetherly.
