St. Paul's June Outreach - Casa Chirilagua
This June St. Paul's will once again raise funds to support our mission partners, Casa Chirilagua. Serving the Arlandria neighborhood, Casa Chirilagua oversees community programs and food distribution to over 100 families.
Casa Chirilagua started as a mentoring and tutoring program, but when COVID-19 struck last year they expanded their outreach to provide emergency community relief, distributing 900K lbs of food, creating an in-house food/cleaning items pantry, distributing $162,000 of financial assistance for rent and utility expenses, and opened their doors as a Kids Club and Teens Club learning hub for virtual schooling.
The women who founded Casa Chirilagua in 2007 had "the sole desire to relationally love their neighbors as themselves" and this remains the driving force behind this non-profit. Ama a tu projimo como a ti mismo...Love your neighbor as yourself.
