And so it was, that, while they were there, the time came for Mary to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

The shepherds came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known what had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it had been told to them.

And the Wise men followed the star, which they had seen at its rising, until it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and they fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts of gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
