Confirmation

The Book of Common Prayer states that Confirmation is “the mature commitment to Christ, and one receives strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and laying on of hands by a bishop.” Although it sounds similar to baptism, Confirmation is a Christian’s affirmation of the promises made at their baptism and the acceptance of the doctrine of the Episcopal Church. It is required that an individual seeking confirmation be baptized and instructed in the Christian faith. At St. Paul’s we offer Discipleship 101 in the Fall and Spring for adults looking to deepen their faith as well as meet the instruction requirement. Especially for young adults interested in confirmation, St. Paul’s offers a Discipleship 101 for youth with additional fellowship opportunities.
